Welcome to My Cup of Coco: Sip, Spill, Survive.

Welcome to My Cup of Coco- where I spill the tea on all things nutrition and mom-life with a practical twist.

I’m sure we all see the “influencer” moms online who have the “perfect” bodies, 8 children who are homeschooled to perfection, a husband who brings in 200K a year, and not to mention she mills her own grains and only wears organic cotton.

Guess what? If you’re looking for a mom like that- she’s not here.

The mom here (me) is the mom who is doing her best to navigate the food industry in America, support local businesses and farmers in Pittsburgh, feed her 4 kids under 5 years old on a tight budget, run a full-time business, and use alternative remedies before traditional remedies.

At my base, I am a registered nurse. From working in big city hospitals, I had my eyes opened to the healthcare disparities that exist for women in America. Our pain is treated less, our legitimate heart attacks are dismissed as anxiety, we are given birth control for every ailment and gaslighted for symptoms we bring up at appointments. After a few years of working for an industry that was in the business of making people sick instead of making them well, I left and went to a university where I was able to learn just how incredibly intelligent our bodies are and how quickly they can heal when given what they need.

I learned more getting that degree than I ever did in all of my years of nursing school and working as a nurse. In 2022, I started my business, Practical Mama Wellness, where I try to implant everything that I’ve learned and experienced into practical, real-life strategies for moms like you.

Because let’s be honest—most of us don’t have time for elaborate wellness routines, 100-step meal plans, or spending hours in the kitchen making everything from scratch. But we do want to feel good, feed our families well, and make choices that align with our values—without losing our sanity in the process.

What You’ll Find Here

At My Cup of Coco, I’ll be sharing:

The best places to eat in and around Pittsburgh—because sometimes, you just need someone to tell you where to grab a solid meal without the guesswork.

Farmers market finds & seasonal produce tips—supporting local businesses while getting fresh, nutrient-dense food for your family.

Grocery store hacks—because healthy eating doesn’t have to be expensive or overwhelming.

Food-as-medicine remedies—simple, effective ways to support your body naturally before reaching for medication.

Mom-life nutrition tips—because feeding four kids (or even just yourself) shouldn’t feel like an Olympic sport.

I’m not here to push perfection or overwhelm you with rigid food rules. I’m here to help you navigate the real world—where life is messy, budgets are tight, and time is limited. My goal is to help you make informed choices, nourish yourself and your family, and feel empowered in your health journey.

So, grab your coffee (or reheat it for the third time—no judgment), and let’s get started.

Stay Well, Coco
